I will offer two other great players from the past, Don Butterfield and Bill Barber.

Bill Barber, to the best of my knowledge, played a King, rotary valved, CC tuba like Mr. Torchinsky's and Mr. Bell's. Don Butterfield played a King, piston valved BBb tuba. Please correct me if i am wrong.

As the greatest philosopher of the twentieth century, Yogi Berra, said, "It ain't over 'til its over", I offer another name that I do not remember being mentioned in this post, John Fletcher.

Mr. Fletcher played both a Besson Eb and a Holton CC tuba.

This is the only photo that i could find of Joe Novotny with the low brass of the New York Philharmonic in 1964. Joe also played a King CC tuba.

The Auto Assault-12 (AA-12), originally designed and known as the Atchisson Assault Shotgun, is a shotgun developed in 1972 by Maxwell Atchisson.
I could really use one of those when quail season opens back up here.
I don't know - look at how poorly that thing was able to hit the targets from almost point blank range. Supposedly will fire 300 a minute but the big bulky clip only holds 20. How many of those are you going to lug around in the field and how many could you actually clip in and out in a minute. I think I will hang on to my Remington 870 pump and my 1100 autoload and leave that thing to the street garbage. I also don't believe that guy is Russian. Did he get that accent from these guys:

When Don Butterfield played Tubby the Tuba, he used a King Eb Sousaphone.

Looks like an R&S Heavywall. They made one that was supposedly a copy of the cup shape of the Conn Helleberg and one that was a copy of the Schilke Helleberg II, both with the same can-shaped exterior (maybe others, but I don't remember). I believe someone else made copies of these at one time.

Tony Clements offers a line similar to this called the Tony Clemnts Signature Line. And I may be wrong but I think at one time Schilke made something like this, but I'm not for sure on that.

I'm amazed that nobody's mentioned the mighty Joe Tarto - composer of the "White Horse Stomp"! I was fortunate enough to see him play in his (much) later years, when I was a mere E-flat lad.

What is that tuba? With the thin top bow looks rather cimbasso like

I think that's the tuba known as "Big Joe", which gave its name to this:

Mr. Tarto co-wrote it with Paul Lavalle. :tuba:
