I have a ninety year old stand mate in the Ohio MIlitary Band who is looking for a hard case for his one-hundred year old tuba.
It's a big, bell-front horn stamped Buescher, made in Elkhart (pictures below).
Does anyone know anything about cases for this horn or have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Does Case Exist for This?
Thanks, Bloke. I suspected that it would be a two-piece case. It's good to know that there is someone still manufacturing it.
I'll let my friend know about the GWW cases. He was talking about making something for himself. I don't know if he would rather spend the money or the time but at least he'll have an option.
Thanks a lot for your response.

Hey! I know that horn! I see Bob at 'Windjammers' meets twice a year. That Buescher is a great old horn.
I think that horn would fit into a set of cases made for the King 1240/41.

That's the horn, Dan. Bob wants the case so he can travel with it down south for the Windjammers.TubaTinker wrote:Hey! I know that horn! I see Bob at 'Windjammers' meets twice a year. That Buescher is a great old horn.

I'll tell him what you said about the King cases.
Thanks!

Bob called me this afternoon. He is thinking about going to 'Windjammers' but doesn't have a flight case for the Buescher. The King cases are not what I would consider to be flight cases so I suggested he either borrow a horn for the conventions or put his Buescher on a Greyhound and pick it up at the terminal when he gets to Reno. Ordinarily it wouldn't matter but his motorhome is down. He usually drives down to Bradenton for the January meet and space in the motorhome is not a problem.mjrctuba wrote:That's the horn, Dan. I've posted about borrowing a horn in Reno for the week of July 22nd to see if we can find a suitable 'circus music' horn for Bob to use.
