Marcello Sonata in F,arranged by Little and Nelson, I'm sure there's another version. Any ideas tuba world?
Thou it's Italian baroque and no rules applies, making a Riccardo Broschi turnover is not what I'm looking for
I know a friend of mine had one version with more runs and less crap.
Of course he does not have it anymore and is searching around for that arr him-selves
Thank You

Yes, the Little/Nelson is pretty much (or to the detail) a transcription of that, the elephant wrote:Just buy the original and read from that.
and by all means. Nothing wrong with that, but I seem to remember the
other arr. to have more 'runs'
Nice piece of music thou

Would you happen to know the publisher/arrangement?Casca Grossa wrote:Michael Lind plays a nice version if this. You can download the recording from iTunes. I have the sheet music for the Little arrangement. I don't know if there are others out there.
Thank you

Well......the elephant wrote:So you do not want the actual piece of music as composed by Marcello, then. Those additional bits are improvised ornamentation. I guess you want to play with the jazz band too, so long as some kind person will write out some killer "improvised" solos for you to play? HAHAHA!!!Lectron wrote:Yes, the Little/Nelson is pretty much (or to the detail) a transcription of that, the elephant wrote:Just buy the original and read from that.

Having had the sheet I'm asking the ones polite and knowledge enough to answer if they would know about that particular arrangement.
You have already stated you do not know about it and I don't know how an insult would change that? You still do not know about it.
It might come as a surprise big E, but a few improvised ornamentations is not what I'm asking to have written down here.

The capital letter laughing part might have strike me as a rather unnecessary part of this conversation.the elephant wrote:
How was that an insult? You seem to be a bit thin-skinned on this one, sir. And where did I state that I was unaware of what you are looking for? I have a copy, thank you. I just want you to understand that Marcello did not write that. It is exactly as I stated. And it is a very good analogue to compare what you want to playing a big band chart that is authentic to the original with someone else's solos written in over the changes.
My point is that you should study period ornamentation and learn to do it for yourself. It is not difficult.
I was trying to get *you* to realize what it is that you *really* want. I was also having a bit of fun in the process that I believed that you would appreciate. What was is that you are having? Your response was not fun at all. It is quite defensive, actually. Maybe a re-read of what I wrote is in order, here? Wires have crossed as this has made its way over the ocean, it seems...![]()
Just curious...
I do also have the original cello/piano, and have no problems reading that one and do cute li'll octaves and ornaments.
My question was quite simple.....does anyone have another arrangement of the piece. Not a just a transcription.
...And it seems something has got lost in translation on the way...usually does, but I'll stick to English as it is probably superior to most of yours Norwegian

Oh....I get you but I don't get what it's to you whether I want the sheet for that particular arrangement......not written by Marcello but based on the sonata in F?the elephant wrote:
You simply are not getting my point. I give up. good luck with your quest for the faux Marcello and having someone else write out your ornamentations. I cannot get you to get me.
I have and play the original, and want the other one as well for no other particular reason than I want it

Looks like you too seem to have "made up" so maybe I shouldn't comment, but this is a classic example of what often derails threads on this board. (And I've been guilty of the same thing plenty of times.)
Lectron is correct that Wade wasn't really answering his original question. Wade is correct (IMHO) that the better course of action - rather than looking for a different arrangement - would be to do your own revisions and ornamentation (and I think Wade is using the term "ornamentation" to refer to a broader range of things than Lectron is envisioning). And Lectron has every right to reject Wade's advice and hope for a response to his original question.
I suspect the arrangement Lectron seeks might have been made for an instrument other than tuba. I'm sure not aware of a tuba arrangement other than the Little/Nelson version.
(FWIW, I've played that version, and also prefer playing from the original with my own liberal - and of course tasteful - adjustments.)
