2013 Mansfield University/EMMF Brass Band Camp

Post by threedognate »

The 2013 MU Brass Band Camp, now in conjunction with the Endless Mountain Music Festival!

The inaugural 2012 camp was such a success that we've decided to do it again!

Dates have been set for Tuesday, July 30 through Friday, August 2, 2013. Finale Concert on August 2 at 7:00pm.

We're expanding the camp to include master-classes, private lessons, and chamber ensemble experiences with world-class performers and members of the Endless Mountain Music Festival Orchestra. The
festival, under the baton of internationally recognized conductor Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser, features world-renowned guest artists, festival orchestra and chamber music concerts, solo recitals, performance previews, and receptions with the musicians. Classical and contemporary music for over two weeks of entertainment and enchantment in the gorgeous Pennsylvania Wilds and New York Finger Lakes Regions, all centered around Mansfield University's Butler Music Center in picturesque Mansfield, PA.

More information to come on EMMF faculty and application procedures. Contact Dr. Nate Rinnert (nrinnert@mansfield.edu" target="_blank) with questions.

The list of EMMF Festival Orchestra members teaching at the camp this year includes Kevin Ladd (Baltimore tubist and former principal tuba with the Syracuse Symphony) teaching tuba, and David Sciannella (Annapolis Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, National Philharmonic, and trombone professor at George Washington University) teaching trombone/euphonium. Non tuba-euph faculty include EMMF Festival Orchestra members Luis Engelke (Kennett Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, Mid-Atlantic Symphony, and trumpet professor at Towson University) teaching trumpet/cornet, and Rebecca Dodson-Webster (Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Williamsport Symphony, and horn professor at Mansfield University) teaching horn.

Shaping up to be an exciting camp!

Still looking for a couple of tubas, a euphonium/baritone, and a couple of trombones for this exciting experience. Fantastic repertoire, inspiring faculty, and a chance to play with some great, like-minded musicicans - let all of your high school-aged friends know about this!
