mouthpiece with euro shank

Post by RadDad2005 »

looking for a mouthpiece similar in specs to the Helleberg 7B model, but with the larger, euro shank for a Cervany 681 model tuba. Unfortunately, the Helleberg does not come in the larger shank, but, as one might expect, the intonation is a serious problem using the regular shank in the larger receiver. An adapter might improve the situation (if one exists), but a mouthpeice with the correct shank is what we really need. Any suggestions?

IIRC, the 7B is supposed to be like the standard Helleberg but with a shallower cup. The Laskey F cup mouthpieces (28F, 30F) also fit this description and Dillon shows them as available in Euro shank. (I use a Laskey 28H Euro shank because I wanted more of the regular Helleberg style in a Euro shank).

not my money, for a student. Can't find an adaptor on the Dillon website. I will call them Monday. The Laskey sounds like my best bet otherwise.
