Looking for P.J.B.E instrumentation sheet music

Post by Chris Olka »

Title of my post is a little cryptic. I'm putting together a brass ensemble for the Philip Jones/London Brass instrumentation of 4 Trumpets, 1 Horn, 4 Trombones, 1 Tuba. I'm looking specifically for a few arrangements I've had no luck finding. One is a suite by composer Gordon Langford called "London Miniatures". "Terpsichorean Suite" is another. And the last one is "Brass Symphony" by....I think...Koetsier? It's been difficult because these arrangements are on a recording I downloaded via iTunes of the Tokyo Brass Symphony and the composer, arranger, and other info are not listed on the track information. I've had no luck corresponding with the group in question so was hoping some of you guys and gals might have some direct knowledge of the where and how to get these tunes.

By the way, Tokyo Brass Symphony sounds FANTASTIC! Anyway, first hand info would be greatly appreciated.

Very best regards as always,

Here is the Koetsier http://www.editions-bim.com/jan-koetsie ... entet.html" target="_blank" target="_blank

I'm fairly certain this is the Terpsichorean suite. http://www.brasswindpublications.co.uk/ ... atalogBody" target="_blank" target="_blank

and finally I think this is the Langford.

All of the movement titles seem to line up with the recordings and I'm 90 percent certain these are the same arrangements. Hope this helps.

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! That is spot on what I needed. The darndest thing is that I looked on the justmusic website as well as the brasswindpublications website and couldn't find either of the ones you did! Well, I guess I just haven't had "enough" beer in my life yet....doooh!

Anyway, that exactly what i was looking for. So, MANY THANKS TO YOU!

Wow, good call on the Tokyo Brass Symphony. Amazing stuff. Surprised I am just now finding out about it.

I think what you want to do is go to the Just Brass website to this page: http://www.justmusicuk.com/browse" target="_blank

And then look in both "Just Brass Series" and "Ten Part Brass Music"

Also, if you get this book: http://www.amazon.com/Odyssey-Philip-Jo ... s+ensemble" target="_blank

it has a listing in the back of their complete repertoire, with publishers if applicable.

Chris, could you say something about the All Star Orchestra. I just found out about it. Very impressive line up. How was it put together? How were you selected? How and where do you meet?

Thanks!

many of the arrangements are in a series called "just brass" published by Chester Music in the UK, you can order them from here http://www.juneemerson.co.uk/
