Interesting rotary knuckles

The maker's name puzzled me until I read the shield. the e told of two makers joining up which isn't unusual.

The one-piece circular (partially) knuckles are unusual for an instrument that old. I first saw that feature on an Engelbert Schmid horn 23 years ago. Joining the rotors by means of ferrules obviously is easier, but using Yamaha-style jigs for assembly work should make the mounting of one-piece knuckles much easier (it has been used on piston blocks for many years anyway). With modern hydraulic techniques even conical knuckles for progressive bore valve blocks should be possible.

These are very, very common on Italian rotary instruments from a very long time bracket!
