This was my son's low brass section last school year: Final concert of the 2012-13 Rolling Hills Middle School (Los Gatos, CA) Symphonic Band. My son was the section leader (blonde, with his own MW 25); the second chair tuba player is the dark haired young gentleman with the schools brand-new Holton 4-valve tuba (thanks, bloke!).

Re: POST YOUR LOW BRASS SECTION PHOTO HERE
I didn't know that there were such things. I thought that each Gnagney was its own individual "work of art." (Tongue only slightly in cheek...Everyone who plays one of Sam's creations has had great things to say about them or has kept their mouth shut with any criticism. The only Gnagney-influenced horn that I've ever had the pleasure to play, albeit briefly, was the big Martin-Gnagney BBb once owned by Mitch Williams and now listed for sale by Blake Cooper here on TN.)jeopardymaster wrote:Matching Gnageys.

This is my university's orchestra section. Taken after a performance of the Bolcolm Clarinet Concert with 2 bass bone parts I'm the Godfather-ish lad sitting with his horn.

Hamilton Place! I played there many times in the three years I was a member of the NAO myself! Played S. Fantastique last season with the HPO there too. The best was when they shipped in bus-loads of kids for the school shows. Is Boris still doing his head-shake vibrato on "The Rattlin' Bog" number?ajacobus wrote:National Academy Orchestra 2013 Low Brass section, right after Mahler 8 concert

Sure, we weren't the greatest marching band and definitely not the greatest band, but there was no where else I would have wanted to have been.
