New Style King 2341 Gig Bags

Does anybody make a gig bag for the new style King 2341 that actually fits???
It seems that almost every gig bag these days that will accommodate a horn with
a 20" bell size is always 40"+ in length
The new style 2341 is barely 34" in length (height). I'd like to find an affordable bag
that the horn would fit a little more snugly in (like it was actually made for it). I
know that there are the Glenn Cronkhite/RB leather bags made to fit this horn, but
they're a bit out of my price range. Anybody know of a little more affordable bag
that is actually made for the new style King 2341?

Save up your shekels and purchase the Cronkhite. There is no better gig bag. I have the cordura version. It's a fully zippered clamshell style, and came with an auxiliary snap-on music folder bag.

Save up for the Cronkhite. $400 isn't bad, considering the cost of the horn.

I have a cordura Cronkhite bag for the New Style King 2341. Got it here http://www.baltimorebrass.net/index.php?cat=10" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" Very please with the service from the guys I bought it from.

It fits the horn great, especially that big bell. There is not a lot of slack space, the horn fits snugly, but is not a problem to get into the bag, or out of it. The padding is excellent. The pocket on the front has taken an extra large music folder plus a bunch of other music. There is a small pocket on the back that holds the mouthpiece and seems to hold it in a way that its not pressing against the horn More importantly, when I have a ways to hoof it from where parked to where play, its decent to wear on your back, doesn't drag too low. A gig bag is not a hard case, but it makes getting to where I have to play doable which was a big problem with the hard case which was very hard to lug up flights of steps, or down a block or two, especially across gravel road or big park with no sidewalks. I have been really satisfied with the Cronkhite and quite happy with my decision to go with it. YMMV.

Save up for Glenn's "bag" which is really a soft case. Easiest to pack and unpack, best designed and easiest to tote to and from rehearsals/gigs. Worth every dime and more. The workmanship is something to admire.

I had the Altieri and got fed up with the loading/unloading rigamarole. The Cronkhite you zip it up and go - and it is much more compact sliding it in and out of your car and easily secured.

For what it's worth I've been schlepping tubas around since the 1960s and the Cronkhite is the best I've ever had - in fact I wish he'd been making these cases 40 years ago!
