Looking for a way to clip a mic to my bell, the clip is plastic but has some sharp teeth. Thought about putting a strip of tape on my bell but I'm afraid the adhesive will affect the finish. Also might use a small piece of sponge. Any other ideas???

Re: Bell protection
Rubber finger thimbles one on each jaw might work

Re: Bell protection
most mic clips that are actually made for this purpose have some soft sponge
rubber pads inside the jaws or you could put some on it yourself.

Why not put a strip of tape on the teeth?

Re: Bell protection
Either shelf liner or just a couple layers of gaffer/masking tape (light adhesive that won't leave residue).
