If so, and I trust you, then the fence/distributor has a pretty well organized sales operation with good documentation. I certainly hope the police will take this scammer apart.

The auction may still be seen here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MACK-Brass-Micr ... 7675.l2557

It has the most thorough illustration of the travel model that I remember seeing, but for the Eb slide. Is it there?

Getting interesting.
So this robbery started in Brooklyn and this seller is in PA/MD?
Last heard--from Tom who also talked to the detective (by the way if you need a horn and the Mack Brass brand fits your needs, you'll find few people more helpful to work with)--the nypd got the local cops to pay the seller a visit. Guess the ebay delete is related. Not sure if will hear more today as the detective is on the streets handling a shooting--which yeah takes precedence over a tuba. Gotta love brooklyn.

Ok guys, case closed.
Was traced to Pottstown, PA. Local police confiscated horn from pawn shop. NYPD traveled there today and picked up and now back home. Detective Ellensohn, NYPD 83rd precinct was so pleased he took pics and video of this as sort of a victory lap--that's an actual pic of a Brooklyn detective in PA with the evidence. He handles mainly homicides so this is an understandably more pleasant side of the job. But he noted it was this BB that cracked the case.
Good work, guys.
NYPD thanks you.
And so do I.

Tuba Community is way too small, wish they would all end this way. I bet we have a better percentage of solving stolen tuba cases on this board then by the real detectives. I certainly do not in any way to mean that as a put down as I have the highest respect for what they do.

Good Job
