News Story on the TubaMeisters

Post by TubaRay »

Of interest to some(OK, 3 or 4) Tubenet folks is a FRONT PAGE article in the Victoria(Tx) Advocate. The article, and online video, describe a rather unique performance we did, yesterday, in Hallettsville, Tx. The naysayers will likely comment about how Hallettsville is such a small town. For the record, they would be right. But, if they wish to portray it is a nowhere place, I would take exception with them.

We performed in the Cultural Event Center, which is apparently an old store building on Main street, right on the square. The picturesque court house is right across the street. To add to all of this, it is about 30 miles from my hometown of Gonzales, Texas, which is another small town in Texas. Anyway, the audience was not large, but was quite appreciative. Considering it was quite cold for us sissy South Texans, the turnout was quite good.

Here's a link to the article, along with the short video/audio:

Good ole Halletsville, almost exactly halfway between Shiner and Bock. If we all did more of this we might avoid the demise of music as we know it.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

They have been big time for a while. In Texas, when you play on the river walk in San Antone you are BIG TIME!

Great job TubaMeisters! My hat is off to Hallettsville Texas for having a Cultural Event Center. We need more places like Hallettsville that value live music! :D

best,

Enjoyed seeing, hearing, and reading about it. It's good to see familiar faces every once in a while. Thanks for sharing Ray!
