Blokepiece symphony:yet another convert

I have been a faithful devotee to the g&w caver heavy for 7 or 8 years now.i really like the clean articulation and playability but not crazy about the harsh low register sound quality(and no,I don't practice enough).a few years back I had joe send me a symphony to try out,but it just didn't do it for me.sent it back( with absolutely no flack from joe,btw).fast forward to last week.changed horns to a wisemann pt6p clone and the shank on the caver euro stuck out too far.upon the advice of a couple guys I trust,decided it might be time for a re visit of the blokepiece.the symphony cup/symphony back bore with p shank and a rim joe picked to be close to caver worked perfectly.my low register fulled out without losing articulation clarity. It's a keeper. My thoughts on the horn to follow after some more real world playing.initial impressions: yee haw!

You can count me firmly in camp bloke. Blokepiece,blokebuttons,and blokefelts. What else is on the r&d workbench?

Joe, you wanna give a little detail on the "P" shank? That's a new one to me, but if I'm reading it correctly, it's in between a Euro and an American? If that's the case, I'm interested.

I was playing a St. Pete 202 w/Euro receiver (LUV, LUV, LUV! both those MPs I got for it--Symphony and a Solo2 BTW) but now I'm playing a 25+ yr old (but mint condition) Yamaha 641 w/an American receiver. Since most of the horns I have access to are Euro or American shanks, I'm thinking of getting the Grand shank (maybe the original and the new XL too) to go with my Symphony cup. This in between P size sounds like a good option for splitting the difference. Is that the idea?

I don't know what it is about the Symphony, but it seems to be infectious. I play it on 2 of my horns and, after trying mine, two other friends have purchased one. A third friend has resisted, so far. (He plays a Conn 12J that is outrageously flat so there may be no hope for him.) I suspect Joe has incorporated some magic Tennessee dust made of clay and hickory and other secret ingredients from the bottom of his still into the steel of these mouthpieces to get everyone to play them.

Buying the Symphony was the best mouthpiece purchase I ever made.
It allowed me to get rid of the dozen or so mouthpieces that I had tried
before and didn't really like. Now the Symphony & Orchestra Grand are
the only two mouthpieces I own & I am completely satisfied with them.
