History of the Helicon!

Post by Bignick1357 »

Hey Guys,
I have a trumpet playing student in my band who is doing an english project on the history of the helicon(Old one in his basement his dad played, now he's interested), and I know that there are a ton of people on here that know way more than I do. Is there any one willing to point me in the right direction for this?

Thanks,
Nick

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicon_(instrument) is not totally wrong.

http://www.horn-u-copia.net/display.php ... Helicon%22 shows a lot of helicons in various sizes.

Good Luck!

this sounds farcical, but try to find Bavarian patents from 1849. That's where it started.
