I installed the one from Kevin Powers a few years back. On the surface it appears a little 'cheesy' but really doesn't need to be as heavy as the one that Besson uses. I agree with Bloke that it doesn't take many hours of 'figuring stuff out' to add up to the cost of Kevin's gizmo.

Here's an image of one I put on a Besson 967. The only thing I didn't like about it is that once installed, the main slide could not be removed quickly. Not that the main slide would HAVE to be easily taken out. I just think a 'quick connect' feature would be nice. I later modified that horn to make the linkage adjustable 'on the fly' and easy to disconnect.

that does look nice. I guess if nothing else I could mount the paddle higher and extend the rod going down to the tuning slide

unless it was so high it would hit the valves. It's a $250 gamble..

Bloke summed it up well. Be forewarned. It the main slide is not 'falling out loose'... a kicker will be a real pain in the ***.

Like the Marzans... that damned main slide should have been on the top in the first place! I've been playing my 'slant-rotor' Marzan the last two weeks instead of the Miraphone 1291. It's sooooo nice to 'tune on the fly' instead of having to drop the horn across my lap to yank around on the main!
