* UPDATE *
So I have the 36k now (thanks Keith Sanders, who put up with a bunch to get this sorted) and have neck & bits on the way any day I hope so I can play the thing (thanks Kevin Stiles).
What I now need is the grub screw to secure the neck in place and a couple of bell screws. If any folk know what size these items are offhand I'd be grateful as I'm sure I could make wing type grub screws from allen key bolts or similar...?
Thanks as ever!
Malcolm

Dear all,
I've read about this and am unclear what neck and bits to buy for a 1960's vintage Conn 36k Sousa.
Clearly one option is to find old parts (if anyone has any do let me know...), but if I'm buying new, do I buy 20k parts??
(I read that the modern 36k parts are King, right?)...

If I need to buy new, is this the cheapest option??
Thanks for any help.

Yes... modern parts are actually King.
You need to order 20 or 22K neck and bits specifically.

Hey Paul.
Thanks for the offer but I think I'm sorted now.
I have neck & bits on the way and apparently most any Conn/Selmer SAX neck screw should fit.
Since the bell is fibre I can cope without 3 screws for the time being.
3 non-Conn screws are $12 or so on EBay so should be alright!
Thanks again - looking forward to playing the thing =)
