UNtec Flight Cases?

Has anyone here used a Unitec Flight Case for airline travel and what were your results? Were you happy? Did you sustain damage? Did the case hold up? Or any other feedback (or if you think there are better alternatives) would be helpful. Thanks, Phil

I bought one last year for my old 186 C tuba. I had them make it such that it would fit with the horn in the gig bag. As a result its pretty much a foam padded trunk, but after having flown a number of domestic flights and two to Europe, the case, and more importantly, the tuba have held up with no problems.

I have the ABE-Tuba case. I just make sure to pop the removable casters into the case before I go flying. All the hardware is solid, wheels roll very well, and the box itself is well built.

It just takes up a lot of space when its at home not being used!

I have a Unitec flight case for my Meinl Weston 2000, and I have never felt worried about it's protective qualities. I have flown with it on a number of domestic flights. On the most recent flight, Alaska Airlines managed to snap off one of the solid rubber wheels and crack the riveted mounts that housed it. I have no idea what they could've done to cause this; it must have been a substantial amount force and I honestly don't even want to know. Besides this damage, there was no other apparent damage to the case. The tuba was completely protected.
I can also tell you that they have fast and helpful customer service (They even helped me make the airlines pay for repairing my case).
