3/4 CC

Post by MaryAnn »

I'm not going to buy this but haven't before been aware of a 3/4 CC from China. Can somebody tell me what this is a copy of? And are there other vendors who have something similar?

You're right, but I just happened to come across it looking for something else, and if nothing else, it is also a 3/4 rotary contrabass.

I have been told, and have repeated it on here, that it is a copy of a Cerveny "Piglet," but never having seen one of those I don't actually know that for myself.

What I do know for myself is that you can have some cutting and lengthening done (I don't remember the details) to get it to a place where it is almost playable in tune if you are good with slides and lipping notes around.

Some goofball called it a "Piglet" that when he was talking to an employee of probably the only dealer in US to sell them. As a joke, the name was added to the dealer's website...
