Cronkhite bag for Rudy Meinl 4/4 CC
Question for the Rudy Meinl 4/4 CC owners out there -- do any of you have a Cronkhite bag for your tuba? If so, could you please let me know? I contacted Glenn about it, and he said he doesn't have the measurements for it. I won't have the tuba until later this week to measure it, but if anyone else has already done that work and bought a bag from him, that'd save me a step or two. Not totally urgent, but something I want to handle sooner or later (and certainly before the end of the year!).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Here is a list of Cronkite bags for various horns at the Horn Guys your Rudy may be listed among the Rudys listed here.

tofu -- thanks for the link, mine isn't listed, and Glenn himself said he doesn't have it on record. Just wondering if there are any others floating around here, and what other model has the same measurements.
Joe -- I guess that would be pretty simple to reuse the bag from my 188, had I not sold it with the 188. I'll have to see how it fits in that bag before I pack it up to ship it, thanks for the suggestion!

My friend has a Cronkite bag for his 4/4 Rudy. He got it about 2 years ago.

Bort, measure the tuba. Pick a model with similar dimensions out of the list at hornguys.com listed above. Call hornguys and place an order.

Re: Cronkhite bag for Rudy Meinl 4/4 CC
I recently received a Cronkhite bag for my Rudy 3/4 CC. It's the 188 bag, as per the Hornguys site listed above.
I don't know how much size difference there is between the 3/4 and 4/4, but the bell diameter shouldn't be a problem, as I have a little wiggle room in that area with my horn inside. Not much, but I think it'd take an extra inch.
I can't speak to the difference in height/girth of our horns, though, and my horn is quite snug in the 188 bag.

Thanks for the plug. Glenn recommends you fill out a sizing form and send it in if your horn is unknown to him. Let Glenn pick the case pattern, rather than you picking it off our list. You're guaranteed to get a more precise fit that way.cjk wrote:Bort, measure the tuba. Pick a model with similar dimensions out of the list at hornguys.com listed above.
