Sousa Marches
The fire department band I play for uses the Sousa's Famous Marches Book, adapted for School Bands. This book has parts that have been altered to make them easier to play. I have a lot of the Original arrangements for Euphonium, but now that I'm playing Sousaphone I'd like to find the original arrangements for the following Marches:
Stars and Stripes Forever
Liberty Bell
High School Cadets
El Capitan
King Cotton
Thunderer
Semper Fidelis
Manhattan Beach
Washington Post
Does anyone know if the original verisons are available anywhere? I've tried IMSLP.org but didn't find them. I don't mind purchasing them I just can't seem to find them anywhere.

Let's see if this works. Just click on the music image, then go to left side of page and select the part (e.g., Basses) you want to see.

Re: Sousa Marches
They have a book full of all the standard marches, and orchestral parts for euphonium. Friend if mine had a copy of it. I'm sure they might be in there, though it's more than what you're asking for.
Good luck on the search.

Re: Sousa Marches
I think the parts in this collection are also watered down, a bit.Minkrott wrote:Some of the best selection and prices that I have found.

Re: Sousa Marches
Radar, be aware that that book has some of the marches transposed also. Offhand I can't tell you which ones, but it frustrates me everytime I play from it!

Re: Sousa Marches
This is the book we are currently using, and the parts have been modified to make them more playable by school bands. But thanks for the suggestions.Minkrott wrote:Some of the best selection and prices that I have found.
