Favorite movies: Animal House and The Blues Brothers

Favorite part of ANY movie: The opening of Patton. I love that march in the beginning.

Can't say I've ever seen the first two, but yep, definitely should've put Animal House and Blues Brothers on the list.

And Shrek.

And Airplane.

And the equally funny but lesser known Kentucky Fried Movie...anyone else seen that???

Hey Doc, you know a website or some place where I can find a copy of Kelly's Heroes. Seen it once on the TV and loved it. Wallmart don't have. If you know a site could you tell me? Thanks.
Benjamin.

(do these movies relate?)

Million Dollar Baby (just saw it)
Office Space
Schindler's List
Spinal Tap
Mr. Holland's Opus
Beavis & Butt-head Do America
Hoop Dreams
Blues Brothers (the first one, obviously)
IMAX Space Station 3-D
Clerks

There's a few others that will make me stop changing channels on the TV. Well, except for the IMAX one, of course.

Believe it or not, those movies are even funnier if you are from New Jersey (well...the first three, anyway...)

Another good Jersey movie is "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle." It is very stupid humor, but I loved it. They're successful stoners(oxymoron?) and they get the munchies one night, and it turns into an adventure involving everything New Jersey. I thought it was great.
As for favorite movies, I like alot of movies, some comedies, some action, some sci-fi. I think we all just like to be entertained and maybe taken to another place for a little bit with our movies. Having stress and other things makes it necessary to relax and either read a book or watch a movie. I also like movies that make you think a little different, like movies with the huge twist at the end that no one could've predicted, that make you question, at least for a second, if what you saw was possible.

Someone explained the premise to me, and I refused to see it...I grew up in the Hoboken area, and know of at least 3 or 4 White Castles within a few miles of where they started. The fact that they decided they needed to go to Cherry Hill for White Castle is something I just couldn't get past. For those of you unfamiliar with New Jersey...Hoboken is a tiny little town right on the Hudson river, directly across from downtown Manhattan. Cherry Hill is in south Jersey, a few miles from Philadelphia. It's about a 2 hour ride from one to the other.

Yes, I actually realized the same thing. I live in Clifton, about 15 minutes from Hoboken. There's a White Castle on Main Ave. here and was thinking to myself "Why didn't they just hop on 46 west and come here?" Oh well, that would've been such a boring movie though.

It would've been foolish to ever go all the way to Clifton! I grew up in North Bergen, right next to Jersey City and Hoboken (take Rte 3 east...when you run out of rte 3, you're in North Bergen), and can think of at least 2 in my town, plus another one right in Journal Square in Jersey City....not to mention the fact that (although I'm not certain) I think there's one actually IN Hoboken.

But you're right, you couldn't very well get a movie out of that....
