I always enjoy a parade ("Dixieland Strut", so those with strict taste and a delicate disposition can skip the link)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtCref29qUY

Probably the best parade I was ever in was Octoberfest in Mayen, Germany.
Did you know the Stripper and Viva Espana go great for marching ?

Or Lexington as a polka ?

I would like to add "Imperial March" by Karl King to this list. Most of my other favorites (Col. Bogey, Nat'l Emblem, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine) have already been mentioned. My summer band is playing "British Eighth" this year, along with one called "Aces High" which is also a fun one.

Belphegor is a March I like and a challenge to play first time I played it I took a long breath after the first run the conductor stopped and asked me what was I waiting for a round of applause?
Cant carry a tune but I can carry a tuba.

Orb and Sceptre and Crown Imperial by Elgar,
ScottM
If you want to find these, they were written by William Walton, not Elgar. Nice, though.

Our city band has been in existence since the 1890's. We have over 1500 titles in our library. We have a few unusual marches that are fun including The Kalaxon And March of the Women Marines.

I don't talk about it a lot because I'm embarrassed to admit most of the marches I play are in sharp keys. (A march in a sharp key is an abomination.)
the pops orchestra I play in has many old theatre orchestrations of Sousa Marches and they are all in the "wrong" key. Stars and Stripes for example is in D and G.
However Radetzky, one of my favorites, should be in a sharp key.

I played it this year in a community band, in Bb. Just sounded wrong.

And then I will spoil Radetzky for you all. Forever!

A Danish high school used it for the final number of its yearly vaudeville. The translation should work well enough to make the point:

Go now rea-,
go now rea-,
go now really home!

I was waiting for a good Cossack reference. Tenth Regiment (Death or Glory) is another one on my frequent play list these days.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX6a8en0IBs" target="_blank Brighouse and Rastrick - Gladiator's Farewell Love the way that bottom line just comes up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9C6yiU9KS8" target="_blank Royal Hussars - San Lorenzo Like this British arrangement. More cornets than trumpets than some others out there more mellow sound.

Third Army March mentioned above in a couple of other post. Our Community Concert Band plays a joint concert with the 282 Army Band in the spring and we played it this past Spring. Awesome experience playing with 30+ really good professional musicians at their speed. This was a second year for two really great tuba players being there. Alas, one is PCS out to Hawaii so won't be there next year.
