Tuba Collector

Post by Steve Marcus »

The summer 2004 issue of the ITEA Journal contained an autobiographical article by Lanny Robbins about his tuba playing and his then 70-piece tuba collection.

Are he and his collection still in the Detroit area?

Steve-
Not sure about him, but you have that tuba collection for sale in Vermont starting this weekend, someday down the road Paul Haugen's horns, Harvey Phillips' horns, the old Hotel in Iowa that had the 'Bill Bell' room horns, etc.
Lots of current & potential tubas for sale...

When I studied with Paul Maybery, many moons ago, he told me tuba players would watch the obituaries to find a good horn. Paul knew his stuff. :D

In the 1980's I sold several tubas to Lanny Robbins. I tried to contact him several years ago and got no response. I hope is is well.
