Shipping a Tuba Overseas

Post by pecktime »

I'm trying to complete a deal on a YCB621 tuba with a gracious seller on these forums, but the shipping costs to New Zealand from Houston Texas are defeating us.

US$2000 is the cheapest we've found. Surely there is a cheaper way?

Any ideas? (apart from putting the horn into a blender or mailing it flat!) :D

I have imported several into Australia via USPS at approx US$355 and also air cargo at no more than $500 depending on size and weight. Suggest you visit the post office first and also scan ebay traderls to see how they do it.
