My piston F tuba's 1st and 4th valves are vented so I can pull the slides when needed. I'm looking at getting a rotary CC and was wondering if it's possible to vent rotors also? I know I haven't played a CC that I didn't need to pull and push on my first slide and I hate that popping noise. Is this possible?

Re: Venting rotors?
Quite possible. In fact, much easier than pistons. Bloke talked me through it at ITEC, and I've done three sets since then. The first set was a bit of a learning experience, and I ended up soldering a couple of holes closed when I drilled them too high and had to redo them a 16th or so lower on the casing. Venting the second and third rotary horns went off without the slightest problem. Very doable.thetubawizard wrote:My piston F tuba's 1st and 4th valves are vented so I can pull the slides when needed.
