Where Can I Rent to Own a Sousaphone?

Post by TubaPresident »

Does anyone know of a legitimate website where I can rent to own a Sousaphone at? I found http://www.instrumentoutfitters.com/" target="_blank , but I do not know if the website is legitimate or not. I am based in the Chicago Land Area of Indiana or known as Northwestern Indiana.

Do you know if this kind of Sousaphone I found on eBay plays like any other sousaphone? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SOUSAPHONE-WHIT ... 3ce751683e" target="_blank" target="_blank

How about this Sousa? Does it look like a instrument worth what it's being sold at? http://www.ebay.com/itm/KING-BBb-SOUSAP ... 3f3dd6fe5f" target="_blank

In my own opinion yes ( you'll need to spend another 120 on neck and bits plus a mouthpiece) but it's better to find a brass one.
Well I already have a tuba mouthpiece, but what specifically would I need to get to get the instrument playable as I see it doesn't come with a leadpipe? Plus I plan on using this at my school's pep band and in parades for my Marching Band. So would it be better to find a brass one or use this Fiberglass one?

What is bit? Is it needed for the neck or can I just get a neck and not a bit?

A bit is the part that goes in the neck to be able to play in tune and adjust it to you so no you need a neck and 2 bits

After calculating the total price with adding the price of shipping, 2 bits, 1 neck, and the sousaphone itself. Do you think it's still worth the money? The total is in the screenshot below
