"Largo" from Dvorak's New World Symphony

Post by phoenix »

Just wondering...

I heard the Boston Brass perform JD Shaw's arrangement of this piece live about a year ago, and I would love to play it with my brass quintet (a group of 5 high schoolers). Now that Mr. Shaw has made his arrangements available to the public on his website www.jdshawmusic.com I would like to purchse this piece and play it with the quintet. Has anyone else bought this piece and know the demands of it? Could a group of decent high school brass players make this piece sound great?

Thanks in advance and Happy Easter,
Brett

Well is this arrangement the same one that's on their CD? If so, I wouldn't see why not. It is a challenge to pull it off but it could be done with hard work. Good luck if you decide to purchase it.

i'm assuming you have the CD of them playing this piece? That would be the one. Is it possible for you to send me an mp3 file of that track possibly? tubaboss@msn.com
