Reynolds Upright Bell Question

Post by Dan Schultz »

To someone on The Forum who owns one of the BIG Reynolds tubas with an upright bell:

Please provide me with some measurements. Use a cloth tape measure and give me the circumferences where the stack enters the ferrules. Then... measure the distance between those two points. The attached image says it all:

I'm afraid I can't help you, but just FYI, your post says you want circumference, but the image is asking for diameter. I assume it's the circumference you really want?

There's one of these on ebay right now, you could just buy and measure that one! :D

King 2341 with a Holton "Monster" Eb bell
Eb Frankentuba
Martin Medium Eb Helicon

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving's probably not for you.

Now that's a stovepipe of a tuba. Wow, that is tall.

Ultimately... I want the diameter. However... the circumference is a heck of a lot easier to measure!
