Re: Let's See Your Outdoor Tuba Pictures!
This was taken two years ago at one of our bike polo nights here in Baton Rouge, LA. I had a gig the next day with a New Orleans style brass band and decided to take it out of the van while we were sitting around resting between games. It was a tricky endeavor, but both sousaphone and bicycle came out unscathed.

Re: Let's See Your Outdoor Tuba Pictures!
Here I am playing my gold 1927 Conn 38K outdoors, well... in the gazebo on Euclid Ave., on July 4th, 2006 with the Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band.

Also from 2006, this is myself (and my York-Master) and Jorge Garcia playing a duet with the Pomona Concert Band at a community band festival at a winery in Rancho California. The wind was definately blowing the wrong direction for my hair...

And finally, playing my Kanstul GG contrabass with the Kingsmen Alumni Corps at DCI Semi-finals in the Rose Bowl in 2007.

I wouldn't recommend holding the horn like that... it puts an awful lot of pressure on solder joints, and it can snap off.Curmudgeon wrote:Like I mentioned when you first shared it, Miraphone should make a poster out of this pic. Very nice...

"Been there, done that." (And it's absurdly embarrassing.) And I'll admit, there aren't many comfortable places to grab on to a Miraphone by the tubing... it's wrapped very tightly!

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
