Fun to listen to, and fun to play. Symphonic Dances from WSS is Boosey's most frequently rented score. You sound great on the big Rudy, Adam.

Sounds great! To my ears, much better than those silly 6/4 York style horns.
Although... now I'm going to have Kije stuck in my head all day.

Oh, now you've gone and done it, Adam. Tchaik 4 is my absolute favorite piece of music in the world--to listen to and to play. I won't go into the reason why, but I get totally emotionally washed over whenever I hear it.
That D in the tuba part against the F major chord in the rest of the orchestra (4th movement) was never better pronounced. Bravo.
The "folk theme" with the trombones in Bb minor is well heard, but balanced. You are careful not to let the Rudy overpower your low brass colleagues, but simultaneously you provide such a rock solid foundation.
Your sound at 3:03 and at 3:26 (reprise of the 1st movement fanfare) in the YouTube excerpt is, as they say these days, "killer."
At 3:53, you almost become a soloist. That's the loudest that I've ever heard the tuba line there. Being a tubist, I love the sound. But I imagine that sometimes you have to "hold back the reins" on your Rudy.
In the first photo, are these the horns from left to right: Rudy 4/4, 3/4 and 5/4 CCs, or are they 5/4 CC, 4/4 CC, and 6/4 BBb with 5th valve?
At 5:11, is that your Rudy? When was it built?
In Kije, with the "ooms" so exposed, you demonstrate a very wide dynamic range.
These comments acknowledge that it's the driver, not the machine, that controls the sound. As Heifetz supposedly said to the person who complimented the sound of his violin, "Really? I don't hear anything coming from the violin." With that in mind, Adam, how much slide pulling/alternate fingering do you have to do on your 5/4 Rudy CC?

I think it's 3/4 on the left, 4/4 middle, 5/4 right. All in CC.
