To my knowledge, no commercial recording is available. There are however, a ton of bootlegs floating around. The most popular is the CSO premiere from the radio broadcast. There is also one from when Gene did it in Wisconsin with the School orchestra there (John Stevens conducting), and another live one from 2004 when Gene played the concerto and Neilsen symphony on the same concert!

I have been lucky to hear Gene play this live and its a great work. The most challenging part is the last note double high c if i am not mistaken. One thing i have to say about Gene is he is one of the nicest people in the industry and i wish i could have studied with him on a regular basis.
