It's a BBb. Too much open bugle for an Eb.

Obviously made in Elkhart. There's lots of H.N. White/King influence in that horn.

The op tuba has a whole 'nuther wrap. No way is an Eb.

Are you sure? It's only 30" LOA.

It looks extremely similar to the Simonetti Collection Buescher Eb. If it's only 30" tall, that would further suggest tiny Eb.

Is that reddish color a danger sign of brass gone wrong, too thin and brittle, or something, or is it OK?

Let's see.....a small old tuba that is only 30" tall and 15" in diameter (bell diameter?) according to the ebayer, compact body wrap, one-loop 3rd valve = Eb.
