I play a Yamaha 321 in quintet but I've had a fifth valve added for the low end.

Here is an audio recording from my former group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAxWc03fwwE

And a video from my current quintet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VacaY-wov90

I played the tuba book on a Bb Cervany, and was constantly trying to hold back; in most small venues, especially weddings or receptions you are background; you don't to want 'fill the room with tuba'. I got a 3/4 size Martin Eb valve, and I had a blast; I could actually play with dynamics color the sound! And some arrangements are high... much better suited on an Eb or F.

A reorgainization put me back on trombone & euph; the new tuba played an F, and that worked fine. Another change brought in a buddy of mine who plays an 3+1 Besson, and does a fine job.

I perform exclusively on a Willson eflat. I think it's the best horn that I've used in quintet

Willson Eb 3400 FA5

..and a miriad of other JUNK not worth mentioning.

Eb tubas are great quintet horns. the range fits well and the sound blends well with four other brass instruments.

here are some sound files, not the greatest quality however....

My Willson 3400 works great for all the quintet playing I do.
