Antique Eb tuba with an unknown brand

Post by Triggerfish »

i have recently purchased a small very old Eb tuba made in Czechoslovakia, but i have no idea as to the year the instrument was made or the company that made it. The only information on the instrument is that on the lead pipe it says Czechoslovakia, and printed on the back of the valves from first to third the numbers 18 14 15. I thank anyone who can help me identify the information about this instrument.

Valves marked123 generally is after 1900. As they are not sequencial the valve marked 18 may have been a replacement.
Conn 2j Eb tuba,

Olds ambassador baritone,
Zeus Bb cornet,
Hawks and son 1911 eb cornet,

Look closely. Could that be 13 instead of 18? Then they would at least be sequential. I can't be of any further help, sorry.

I checked the back of the valves again and the numbers are the same as i posted but if it helps there is a 2 on the back of the second valve. Unfortunately in the pictures you cannot see the numbers on the valves.
