I did this with a high school band once and while the students were definitely impressed by the musicianship and the pieces, they were REALLY blown away by how the director never once had to tell the ensemble to stop talking.

Truly amazing! Isn't it? I would like to witness something like this, myself. Those of us who work with middle & high school students know that talking is a basic right of kids in America. They should be permitted to talk anytime & everytime they wish to do so. I think this is guaranteed in the Constitution. Or at least it must be!CrappyEuph wrote: they were REALLY blown away by how the director never once had to tell the ensemble to stop talking.
Although this is unquestionably true, I'm not sure I want to know all the things I might learn.TUBACHRIS85 wrote: BEING a HS student myself, I cant tell you enough has to HOW MUCH people here TALK! Take no offense, but its the girls in my classes who just WONT STOP! Everyday, they are like machines, like Energizer batteries, they just keep going, and going, and going....and when the teacher tells them to stop talking, they speeeed up their rate of talking, so now they are like fast talking chippmunks! Sorry, but thats what its like. However, in rare instances, I actually heard some pretty smart things come from kids that you woulden't expect. So just listen up,you might learn something new.
