Suggestions for Large Brass Ensemble Music

I am considering the idea of forming a large brass ensemble for a one-time fundraising performance, and am interested in any suggestions for literature (I am assuming some percussive involvement, as well).

I am thinking of 10+ players. I know that brass literature (not counting quintet music) is not standardized with regards to instrumentation, so rehearsals will be tricky.

The program will probably be in December, so some holiday music would be included.

Looking for GREAT literature that the guys & gals will be glad to play!

Any thoughts of tunes & possible sources of the sheet music would be appreciated!

Can't go wrong with Gabrieli. Regarding Christmas music, Sammy Nestico did some wonderful jazzy arrangements of standards that work well with that size group. Johann Topff/David Baldwin Lobet/Danket dem herrn.

I could go on for days.

In the 1990's, while also a middle school band director, I became the music director of a select HS brass ensemble. The kids auditioned to participate in the group and we ran it for 7 years. At the time, I remember finding music for large brass ens. was a challenge. We had 28 or so members, and I wanted at least 3 tpt., horn, and tbn. parts, so as to avoid a lot of doubling. Some of the best music we played came from the Salvation Army, American Band Journal. God and Country, by Himes, was our signature piece and we ended almost every concert with it. I bought a lot of the music from Solid Brass Music, sight unseen. We did a Gabrieli piece on almost every concert too.

I have some material for 14-piece brass, 4441+euphonium. Most of it with timpani and/or percussion. Much of it with SATB or SMATB voices. There are substitute WW parts for the voices. These substitute parts could be played by brasses.
