Hello tubenet,

It is with a powerful mix of thoughts and emotions that I announce:

I will be taking the 2015/16 academic year off from teaching at NAU in order to assume the one-year studio tuba/euphonium position at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and to be part of the team organizing and hosting ITEC 2016. I am very much looking forward to all the opportunities and challenges of this year, and I know the NAU studio will be in excellent hands for the time being (more on that in days ahead).

To paraphrase one of my heroes: there were a handful of people qualified, willing and able to step into this unique set of professional circumstances, and I'm honored to be the person selected, but NOBODY "replaces" Kelly Thomas.
