King 2341 for Pit/Show Work?

Post by sliphorn »

Hi Tuba people.

Do you think the King 2341 (new type) is too large for most pits/shows? Should I be looking for something smaller?

Thanks!

I think it's perfect for that. I have one out on tour with 'Annie' right now. To me, it's big enough and small enough. I'm considering MAW valves in mine, but as it is, it's perfect for the pit.

I hope a 2341 isn't too big for the pit...I'll be using a bmb 6/4 BBb for sleeping beauty in a couple weeks!

The ONLY disadvantage that I can think of is the somewhat large (physical) footprint when you set the 2341 bell on the floor of a crowded pit. ...nothing about the sound...
Just trying to cover my bases since I didn't ask previously about pit work, especially when doubling trombone/bass trombone. I'm glad for the perspective.

As for scratching my head, I'm not delaying. I've contacted a member here about a King 2341 purchase but it's very, VERY difficult to communicate with them. I'm hoping we can work it out.
