FS: MW 45-SLP w/ bag - $5000

Post by AHynds »

Hello, one and all!

I'm looking to sell my silver Meinl-Weston 45-SLP with a gig bag and a fitted MW flight case (the red wedge case). I'm switching over to cover all of my bass tuba needs with my B&S Eb tuba, and I'd like my F tuba to find a better home. My SLP is slightly different than the stock models--it is a little bit taller, has a slightly wider flare, and is noticeably lighter than stock horns. I can't tell because of the silver plating, but there is a chance that it has some handmade parts. I love the horn dearly, but I don't need a horn of this caliber sitting in a locker unused. There is a patch where the plating has worn off on the bottom bow, and there is also a section of scratched finish over to the side of the same bow. I've uploaded a full set of pictures below, with shots of the scratched finish and finish wear spot. I've also included a photo of the slight amount of waving on the inside of the bell--I got it rolled slightly several years ago, to make the bell a little more stable. All three of these are purely cosmetic, and don't affect the horn at all, sound-wise. The gig bag is a 3-year old, good condition Altieri gig bag.

My price is $5000 for just the tuba+gig bag, and $5500 for the tuba, gig bag, and Meinl-Weston flight case. I would prefer in-person pick up for the horn, as well. I am currently located in northwest Ohio (Toledo-area), and I'd be more than willing to drive a few hours in any direction.

Here's a video of the horn in action!

Bump for the newly engaged man. This is also a heck of a deal for the buyer, IMHO.
