I think it needs different stems or felts, or a combination of those. It plays & the playability improves when I fiddle with the caps & buttons.

Probably an easy fix to align those pistons. The Martin top caps don't tighten down flat on top of the casing but rather tighten down against a step on the outside of the casing. You can't use one of those little tool things to measure things out and need to do a visual with a mirror or borescope.
