Tuba stores in Orange County area

Post by ColeGAnderson »

Hello, I'm down in California for a few days and am looking into buying a tuba while I'm down here. I'm going over to the horn guys, but are there any stores that I should visit while I'm here.

Thanks and cheers!

I don't know much about California geography, but I'd imagine these are close enough:

Hey Cole,

Have a good time in California. If you're in Orange County, Kanstul is in Anaheim, just a few miles away, about a mile before you come to Disneyland. They make a number of tubas and also mouthpieces. Along the road to Kanstul, there will be some pawn shops, tho IDK if any of those will have a tuba...but you could check. Take the tour of the factory at Kanstul if you have time and if they still give it.

Thanks!

I've just booked a factory tour and am looking forward to it!

I will see if i can get a hold of brass ark as well, they have some interesting horns.

Thanks for the help!

Cole,

Make sure you go to both Horn Guys stores. They had a better selection of tubas at the La Crescenta store vs. the Long Beach store when I was looking.

Good luck and have fun!

Tour was great and everyone was friendly and happy to show us around. Zig seemed happy to have us and his son showed us around. They're tubas were very good and i really liked the big sound of the 5/4 CC. I would definitely recomend going to anyone who is in the area.

I'm heading to the horn guys tomorrow but sadly can't make it up to the la cresenta one as i have to leave the same day. Online they said they had a few different miraphones so at least I will be able to try those out.

Thanks for every ones' help, happy new year,

The Horn Guys are definitely the best for all of your brass needs. I live in Los Angeles and have been to both of there locations in Long Beach and La Crescenta. They have everything you need from lubricants, tuba mutes, and cases/gig bags. Not to mention, you can try out there great selection of Tubas. So again, I'd definitely recommend them and they are worth the drive.

Cheers! :tuba:
