It is not the same. I saw this ophicleide at Frankfurt Music Fair last year. It looks fatter and has more broad tone than the Wessex. Also has saxophone type key guards. Where as the Wessex is a reproduction of 19th century French design, this is more of a modern interpretation. Incredible low price. Wessex production cost is more than this sale price
