Thank you to the low-life SOB.......

that has stolen the stainless steel Alan Baer mouthpiece from the Miraphone booth at TMEA. May karma beat the crap out of you.

email the tuba profs in texas. If someone brings a new G&W mpc into lessons this week that normally wouldn't have the money...busted.

Seriously though, thats not cool

What an a-hole.

I can only hope it was a mistake (how many of those mouthpieces exist in the world!), and someone will send you a "holy **** I made a big mistake" email.

Otherwise, yes, karma is a bitch...

Time for serial numbers on mouthpieces?

The mouthpiece is engraved as a Miraphone TU26 but it resembles the original G&W Bear model. I hope enough Texas people see this to correct the situation.

Stealing a mouthpiece is dumb enough, but stealing something that is as uncommon as that is real dumb.

I hope Texas treats mouthpiece lifers the same as horse thieves, rustlers, and anyone caught putting beans in the chili.

I have never been to TMEA and may never have a chance to go but I have been told stories of the abundant criminal activity that occurs at vendor booths. I'm sorry to see this happen to you.

Another vendor of mouthpieces told a mutual friend that he set up a booth at some event once, sold two and lost five to theft. Now he happily sells on the Internet.

The really stupid part of this is that the mouthpiece is a Euro shank and probably won't fit many instruments very well if at all. I will follow up with the State organization. I may not get it back, but then again, I may wind up with 6 of them.

No this isn't the one. The Miraphone model is based on the first version of the G&W Alan Baer model. This is the newest model and not a Miraphone. But thanks for keeping an eye out for it!
All the best.

Aw man. I feel like an idiot now. I'm sorry guys  but the mouthpiece stolen wasn't a Giddings and Webster. It's a Miraphone. Mine is all legit... and a great deal!

This really stinks, and it's always some punk kid who has the money to buy a good mouthpiece but feels the need to steal something instead. I haven't been to a single TMEA event yet where someone hasn't reported a mouthpiece being stolen. I hope you're able to recover your mouthpiece Roger.

Yes, that is the style of the mouthpiece, but this is a legitimate seller. None of ours were in a box. They were in the mouthpiece case we bring to every event. Don't be afraid to buy this mouthpiece as it is obviously legitimate.

Thanks for checking.

Had this happen one time at my booth at the Army Conference a number of years ago. I believe Dillon Music had a tuba stolen at the same time. I feel your pain.

I hope the mouthpiece turns up, Roger.

Roger, as you know I have one of these but don't use the leadpipe that it fits very often (almost never). Let me know it you need it and we can see what we can work out. I hope everything else is going well, Phil
