While browsing, saw Baltimore Brass has an oddball...a 3 rotor silver compensating BBb Hirsbrunner tuba for sale...FYI....

The one at BBC is not the same horn that was sold here awhile back.

There was a time a few years ago I really, really, really wanted one of these. But I can't justify it now.... :cry:

Not the same horn, this one has the signature Hirsbrunner thumb ring still attached. These are rare horns, even in Switzerland. Not a tuba that one would 'dump' .

There are two for sale in the Netherlands (brass atelier De Wilde). He does a very good conversion to 5 valves too...

They are rare for a reason...the one I played was nothing special. The best use for one of these would be to use the body for a project and throw the valve section into the garbage.
