Tim Northcut currently plays with the Dayton Philharmonic after being appointed prinicpal tuba on a one year contract. There is no direct university job connected to the group. However, there are many growing school districts and communities in the area that can always use someone for lessons or additional coaching.

And if I'm from Canada (or some other country)...? Most of the time a Canadian can get a work permit after being offered a contract, but not before. Anyone know anything about this?Winning candidates will be required to show proof of US citizenship or a work permit/green card before a contract can be offered.

I just did a quintet tour with one of their trumpet players. He said he wasn't surprised that the mailings were so disorganized. Apparently the group is quite good, so I would encourage everyone to audition, and do not take the orchestra manager's handling of this into account. She may not be there for much longer.
