$3500 Marzan CC Tuba, MTS case, and mouthpiece

Post by sactubaguy59 »

Marzan CC Tuba, MTS case, and mouthpiece. $3500

I recently purchased this horn on Craigslist. Several of you commented on it in the "For Sale" section under Sacramento Marzan tuba. I took the horn to Tague Band Instrument Repair. It was repaired by Tubenet member . Most reachable dents were removed. The tuba had an ultrasonic cleaning. The rotors were disassembled and cleaned. The body was cleaned, re-lubricated, reassembled, and play tested. The valves were ported. Old valve adjusters were removed and new installed with adjustments made for down stroke and upstroke travel. All strings were replaced with new. Valve bearings were lapped. Buyer pays shipping of your choice. It's ready to play!

Tuba Tinker; I did not do the repairs I simply copied what was on my receipt. . Basically the horn had a service and is ready to be played. There are no issues with the horn other than cosmetic ones. Hope this clear this up.

No problem. I've just never had a reason to lap bearings on a 40+ year old horn. Nor have I ever heard of porting rotors. Must be 'California' terminology.

Nice-looking example of a CC stant-rotor Marzan. Your price is fair. Good luck with the sale.
