FS: Cerveny Piggy - SOLD

Post by Michael Bush »

This is a Cerveny Piggy ACB-603 I picked up recently, partly just because I could, and partly thinking I could need a transitional tuba between the Nirschl and its successor. I've got another option for that transition now though, so I'm going to send this on.

Bloke went all over it yesterday. It is clean and de-dented, except for the one ding in the fourth valve tubing pictured and some small dings in the cap. He commented that it does not have a sharp C in the staff as apparently some of these do. It plays like a Piggy, much bigger than it looks!

The pictures tell the story pretty well. Here is a link to bigger, higher quality pictures than can be posted here, including additional pictures I can't post here since "the board attachment quota has been reached."

$2400 + Greyhound. No case.

What looks like bad marring to the finish near the bell rim in the second picture is just a reflection of the tuba itself, not a flaw.

Hi! I am super interested in this tuba. Where is this tuba located and how can I buy it from you?

I thought about you when I bought it. Because of where I found it I suspect UK comes into its history. Other than that it's hard to think of reasons for it or any CC tuba to be where it was, and in the early 80s I (along with basically everyone coming into that program) was strongly encouraged to buy one.
