Re: tuba shank sizes
Good question. I am researching and compiling dimensions and specifications, but I have not seen definitive "standards" for tuba mouthpiece shanks.daktx2 wrote:what are the different sizes commonly used in modern horns? i have heard American shank, Large shank, and European shank. what are the distinctions between the three? and which one does my PT-6 use? thanks.
I made a chart (under construction) of seven shank dimensions:

I also would like to know what the dimensions are for American, European, and Large Shank.
