miraphone replacement paddles

Post by bctuba »

hiya,

i have always been curious if the paddles on rotary miraphones can be changed or replaced? i am in the market for a 186/188 or a 291, but have turned away from some because there is wear on the paddles.

if they are replaceable, can it be a "diy" job, or is it best to take that to a repair shop?

thanks for the help and quick responses. i heard of a lead where i can get $12 paddles, but ill see if i come around to the idea of the quarters if the wear isn't too big.

What are you afraid of with wear on the paddles?
I think you better look for worn rotors in stead of paddles, just my opinion...

Wear on the paddles is usually lacquer wear at contact points. The paddles can be refinished to look like new. They do not need to be replaced.
