Looking for Bb Tuba

Post by 1ADSarge »

My oldest son, Ben, has decided to carry on my tradition of playing the tuba. Since I do not play for the University any more, I do not have access to a tuba. I would love to buy a well used but functioning tuba so that I may play along with and teach my son how to be the best tuba player he can be! I am looking to spend under $1k shipped to 84790. I would really like to be near the $500 mark but I know that may be near impossible. I appreciate any offers or direction you could give me!

Cheers,
Jared

Thanks HuffPuffTuba for those links. I really like that second one linked, the rustic silver Conn. I'll keep an eye out on eBay.

Cheers,
Jared

I could do $550 on the 12J.

I'd bet anything the 1917 Conn has worn out valves. And a 3 valve anything without compensating system or valve trigger is going to be marginal. Cool look though, the bell might end up put onto some interesting project if it goes to a low open auction.

I'm selling this Besson, already got some bites but probably stays under $1000. Acceptable appearance, big sound. Intonation champ, it is so nice to have that on autopilot you can focus on other things. I suppose especially in a teacher role, that would be an excellent habit to pass down.

Thanks everyone who pointed me in the right direction or sent me offers. I have a lot of generous offers to consider but will be later this week or this weekend when I'll have the funds ready so I am still accepting offers. Thanks again everyone!

Cheers,
Jared
